Hey there, wanderers! It's your girl Rebecca here to talk about something on my mind this Retrograde cycle - the power of decluttering and how it can genuinely renew your spirit.

As a busy mama juggling a business, family life, and all the things, I know how easy it is for our spaces to become overwhelmed with stuff. But let me tell you, there's nothing quite like the feeling of reclaiming your home and your headspace through an excellent old-fashioned decluttering detox.

Whether tackling that junk drawer that's been mocking you for years or finally letting go of clothes that no longer serve you, simplifying and paring down can be so incredibly freeing. It makes your physical environment feel calmer and more organized and can also work wonders for your mental well-being. It is not just your physical world that needs decluttering, either. We need to go through digital, cognitive, and emotional parts of our world, too.

I'm a firm believer that the way we interact with our spaces has a direct impact on our mood and productivity. When surrounded by clutter and visual noise, it can be challenging to relax and recharge. But when you take the time to declutter and create a minimalist oasis mindfully, it's like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders.

So, if you're stuck in a rut or your life doesn't feel like yours anymore, I encourage you to try a little decluttering detox. Start small, be gentle with yourself, and remember that every little bit of progress counts. Before you know it, you'll feel lighter, more focused, and ready to take on the world. Who's with me?

Where Do I Even Start? A Beginner's Guide to Decluttering Your Home (and Life!)

Would you be ready to dive in? Awesome! Let's start by listing all the areas of your life you want to go through. With my simple, step-by-step guide, you'll be well on your way to living that minimalist dream in no time. You might even be inspired to continue decluttering beyond the home front. After all, a clear space equals a clear mind!

  • Start by listing all the areas in which you want to declutter. (Physical, Digital, and Mental regions as well)

  • Start with your physical space; it’s easier to start if you can see the actual clutter.

  • Break it up into sections: things to keep, things to donate, things to sell, things to throw away.

  • Start with one room at a time. This lowers the chance of overwhelm or going too deep at first and losing steam.

  • After you take care of your house, car, office, etc, Start next with your digital detox.

  • You can go through your social media and get rid of accounts that upset you and make you sad.

  • Next, it is time to change your algorithm. Start to follow, like, and save upbeat, optimistic, and positive accounts.

  • Could you start to pay attention to how much screen time you are getting? Are you balancing that with time to read, walk, or practice a hobby?

  • The next part of your decluttering journey is the hardest; I save it for the last. Your personal life!

  • It is time to go deep and realize that the people you surround yourself with, such as a family member or friend. You may need to surround yourself with different people who are more positive and encouraging. Maybe it would help if you let go of a toxic family member.

  • Remember to journal through your journey. Sometimes, we hold sentimental value for things for the wrong reasons. Journalling can help clear your mind and open doors.
